The transfer is not the end of the lift.
Safe patient handling is often treated as done when the patient reaches the table. MRI shows it isn’t.
After the transfer, patients may still need to be lifted, positioned, and held through the exam. That post-transfer work is often invisible to SPHM programs. This presentation of the problem is vendor-neutral. KyphoLift is one engineering control for that exposure — not a substitute for your SPHM program. It’s a load-bearing hold on the table you already have.
Do not call KyphoLift MR Safe. It is labeled MR Conditional up to 3.0T. The 35 lb figure is a NIOSH-informed single-lift threshold, not an OSHA MRI rule, and not a hold. Section 504 asks whether a patient can access and complete the examination. KyphoLift can help complete exams that cannot be completed with stacked foam; it is not a 504 mandate, and 504 does not require this device.
