Clinical
- What patient types benefit most from KyphoLift?
- Anyone who cannot lie flat or hold still on stacked foam: kyphosis, obesity, spinal fusions, pain, mobility limits, habitus. It is not a kyphosis-only device. The IFU indication is written around kyphotic patients and the head/neck coil — marketing describes the job, not a broader clearance.
- Is KyphoLift MRI Safe?
- No. Do not call KyphoLift MR Safe. It contains some magnetic materials and is labeled MR Conditional up to 3.0 Tesla. Always follow the Instructions for Use.
- What is the MRI condition?
- MR Conditional up to 3.0T. The carrying case and foot pump remain outside the 200 gauss line.
- How does pneumatic elevation differ from foam wedges or pads?
- Foam compresses and shifts. The bladder holds a measurable angle for the exam. Disconnect hoses before the scan. The inclinometer documents the angle.
- Can it be used with any MRI scanner?
- Built for standard MRI tables. No installation, no magnet-room construction. Confirm your table and bore against the IFU before first clinical use.
- What is the weight limit?
- 550 lb patient capacity on the dealer specification. The current IFU is the controlling document for rated load.
- Is it radiolucent?
- Radiolucency is an X-ray/CT claim. KyphoLift is an MRI positioning system, not a radiolucent x-ray board. The Gleiter transfer pad is listed radiolucent for MRI, CT, and X-ray.
- Do the patient’s knees touch the bore?
- Elevation is adjustable. You set the angle the protocol and bore allow.
- Can the patient roll side to side?
- KyphoLift is load-bearing support for a prescribed elevation. It is not a turnover or log-roll device.
Technical & installation
- Does it require installation?
- No. Same-day retrofit. No consumables, no downtime.
- Are there consumables?
- No. Clean between patients per the IFU.
- What are the space requirements?
- The unit sits on the table you already have. Packed size is a 33 × 21 in platform, about 34 lb, in the carrying case. No floor plate, no ceiling mount.
- Is there a training requirement?
- Same-shift. Place, strap, inflate, measure, disconnect hoses, scan. A virtual consult is available with the quote.
- Who operates it?
- A single technologist can position and support complex patients without calling a second person.
- How does Gleiter work with KyphoLift?
- Gleiter is the bed-to-table transfer pad (MR Safe). KyphoLift is the elevation (MR Conditional 3.0T). Do not mix those labels.
Billing & compliance
- Do the 2025 MR Safety CPT codes (76014–76019) apply to KyphoLift?
- Those codes are for MR safety procedures around implants and implanted devices — not a positioning pad. Do not bill KyphoLift as 76014–76019. Confirm any WilhelmAI safety-intel workflow with your coding team.
- Does KyphoLift support Section 504 compliance?
- Section 504 asks whether the patient can access and complete the examination. The written standard is about transfer onto diagnostic equipment, not an in-bore hold. KyphoLift helps complete exams that stacked foam cannot; it is not a 504 mandate and 504 does not require this device.
- What OSHA standards are relevant?
- The 35 lb figure is a NIOSH-informed single-lift threshold — not an OSHA MRI standard, and not a hold. After the patient is on the table, Zone IV lifts still happen. KyphoLift is one engineering control for that exposure — not a substitute for your SPHM program.
Purchasing
- How do we buy?
- Start with KyphoLift. One quote. If your system requires a contracted vehicle (federal, GPO, or a partner outside the U.S.), we route that after. You do not hunt a distributor list on this site.
- Is KyphoLift available on GSA schedule?
- If your facility must use a federal or group contract, say so on the quote. We match the path. We do not publish a distributor roster.
- What are the payment options?
- Standard invoice, or 3-month / 6-month equal payments. Same system total. No added financing fee. Hardware can sit on capital. KyphoLift + KyphoWedge includes 12 months of WilhelmAI; renewal can be treated as an operating expense.
- What is the warranty?
- KyphoLift®: 12 months from receipt of the device — not from the purchase date — for defects in materials and workmanship (original purchaser). KyphoWedge®, Gleiter™, and FlexSpace™ are guaranteed to arrive free from blemishes, defects, or damage caused during shipping. MRI-Cue warranty comes from MRI-Cue.
